Mukhymantri Manjhi Ladki Bahin Yojana is a state government scheme offered by the Maharashtra government, under the Mahayuti Sarkar led by the Shiv Sena, Rashtrawadi, and Bharatiya Janata party. The scheme was launched on June 28, 2024, under the Ministry of Women and Child Development. The eligible women aged 21 and above get ₹ 1,500 monthly assistance via direct benefit transfer (DBT). This scheme was intentionally launched to support economically weaker women through fixed financial support.
At the opening, the total number of beneficiaries was 2.63 crore. By February 2025 and May 2025, it dropped around 2.47 crore. The number was dropped due to the scrutiny organized by the Maharashtra government to prevent the scams and detect ineligible beneficiaries.
