Stock market today:Indian stock markets closed nearly as flat on Thursday’s trading session. The benchmark Sensex closed 142 points higher, while the Nifty also ended 33 points higher. The pharma stocks performed well along with financial stocks. Realty and oil & gas continued their rally for the fourth consecutive day. Nazara Technologies shares fell after the Lok Sabha passed an online gaming bill.
Indian benchmark indices traded in green on Thursday’s trading session. Both Sensex and Nifty closed higher today. The BSE Sensex climbed 142 points, or 0.17%, to close at 82000, while the NSE Nifty gained 33 points, or 0.13%, to settle at 25083. The benchmarks are likely to close flat today. Nifty still holds its position above 25000. Sensex reached its 82000 psychological trading level. It is expected to continue its bullish trend for its last trading session tomorrow, Friday.
82 stocks hit their 52-week high on NSE on Thursday. Some major stocks include Apollo Hospital, Force Motors, Fortis Healthcare, Grasim Industries, Maruti, and TVS Motors. On the opposite side, 28 stocks hit their 52-week low on NSE.
Shares of Nazara Technologies Limited, an online gaming company, slide for their second consecutive day. Nazara Technologies shares collapsed 2.09% on Thursday, as Lok Sabha passed the Online Gaming Bill 2025. The company holds around a 46% stake in PokerBaazi. The online gaming bill will ban and regulate real-money online games.
Pharma stocks and banking stocks contributed to the Nifty 50. Cipla and Dr. Reddy’s Lab were the top gainers from Pharma, while Bajaj Finserv, ICICI Bank, and SBI Life were the top gainers from Finance.
